Food Quality Controller

Location: Ballybrit, Galway.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will provide assistance to both the Quality Team and Senior Technical Manager.
  • Support the NPD team in the development and implementation of new food product ranges.
  • Work with the operational management team to train, mentor and monitor team members to ensure we maintain our quality standards.
  • Participate with Quality Team in the management of our BRC and customer standards, to always maintain audit ready status.
  • Investigating, monitoring, and resolving day-to-day quality issues and implementing any resulting CAPA.
  • Inspections and assessments of raw materials, packaging, machinery and finished products.
  • Calibrations and record keeping on weighing machines, pH and temp probes.
  • Liaise with hygiene team and occasional swab testing during production.
  • Validation checks on packaging for outgoing products. Supplier non-conformance log, internal non-conformance Log.
  • Allergen control checks.

    Trainee Cooks

    Location: Galway.

The role entails producing high-quality soups and houmous, handling vegetable preparation, and ensuring product quality during packing for distribution to major customers.

    Reporting to the Team Leader/Supervisor, we need Production Staff to help us meet the highest level of hygiene, food safety and health and safety standards. The role involves being an integral part of our friendly team, working together to produce food you can be proud of.

      Maintenance Technician

      Location: Galway.

      We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who is ready for a new challenge within our Galway-based Irish food business. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food production facility. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting repairs to minimise downtime and maintain optimal efficiency.

      Responsibilities:

      • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, packing machines, and processing equipment
      • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production
      • Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential problems before they escalate
      • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency situations to minimise production interruptions
      • Recognise and conduct repairs on any structural or fabrication issues within a building
      • Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs and prioritise repairs based on production schedules
      • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage
      • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment
      • Provide training to production staff on the proper use and care of equipment

      Qualifications & Attributes:

      • Certification in relevant field
      • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
      • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment
      • Previous knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and automation is desirable
      • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
      • Previous knowledge of CMMS is an advantage
      • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
      • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and weekends as needed
      • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
